Key Stages 1 – 2 and 3 – 5
Key Stage 1 – 2 pupils will explore the aspirations, experiences and legacies of the Caribbean communities who were part of the post-war journey to Britain.
Through immersive activities, role play and object handling, pupils will develop greater insight into the challenges that Caribbean people faced and overcame in Britain, and the positive impact they have made on our laws and culture.
Key Stage 3 – 5 students will engage with material from our archive to generate discussion and guided discovery of some of the lesser known realities of post-war migration.
Key topics covered are housing, employment, legal reform and recreation.
