  • Black Cultural Archives London SW2 1EF United Kingdom (map)

About this event

Explore Yvadney Davis’ practice as a self-taught, award-winning artist. How she connects the nostalgia and joy of the Windrush Generation and what led her to create the series: Proverbs of a Windrush Child.

Hear what it was like to interview the sitters and gain an isnight into their reflections of the impact coming to the U.K. had on their life.  In this one-time opportunity, we hear from one of the sitters in the series talk about their experience of seeing their story become art, and learn first-hand about the loss of the nature and community abundant in their childhoods, the shock of post-war Britain, and their resilience.
