BCA Youth Programme’s Celebration of Black Spirituality & Liberation

One month before Carnival, join the BCA Youth Programme for a celebration of Black Spirituality and Liberation. This one-off building-wide activation will include a pop-up exhibition, short film and ‘Black Life, Black Sounds’ listening session exploring the intersection of spirituality, music, Carnival and political consciousness within the Black British community.

Curated by Black Cultural Archives’ Youth Programme, a network of 18-25-year-olds of African and Caribbean heritage looking to make their first steps into the arts and heritage sector, this is an event you don’t want to miss!

Event schedule

  • 1:00 PM – Doors and pop-up exhibition open

  • 1:30–2:30 PM – Catered lunch

  • 3:00–3:45 PM – Film screening

  • 4:00–4:45 PM – 'Black Life, Black Sounds' listening session
