Join YHP in celebrating 10 years of the Young Historians Project, featuring a screening of their films from their recent project documentary on African Women in British Healthcare, alongside their upcoming project on the East London Black Women’s Group (ELBWO)
The Young Historians Project (YHP) is a UK–based research collective that promotes the scholarship and popular understanding of Black history in Britain. YHP produces public history projects to collect, preserve, and share the histories of communities that have been hidden, overlooked, or marginalised. Inspired by the proverb ‘each one, teach one,’ their work centres on community engagement, education, and accessibility. Their projects involve archival research, oral history interviews, documentary film-making, exhibition curation, school outreach, murals, and more. YHP is a non-profit initiative, meaning they rely on grants and external funding to do their work. YHP are made up of volunteers, with support from project coordinators and their consultant historian, Professor Hakim Adi.
