About the Event
Have you ever wondered who gets represented on Wikipedia, whose stories are told, and how information is shared online?

This Wikipedia Edit-a-thon is an opportunity to learn how Wikipedia (a free, online encyclopedia) works and how you can help improve the visibility of Black histories, communities and collections. Together, we'll explore ways to strengthen coverage of Black Cultural Archives and related topics on Wikipedia.

Experienced trainers from Wikimedia UK will introduce the basics of editing Wikipedia, explain why it matters, and support you in making your first edits. Archival materials from BCA’s collections will be available to explore during the session, offering inspiration for your edits.

Everyone is welcome, from complete beginners to experienced editors. Just bring your curiosity.

Places are limited, so we encourage you to reserve your free seat as soon as possible.

• Bring a laptop
