KASSIE SIWO-GASA

Head Of Digital Experience and Data Enablement

Embracing Your Unique Power

For Kassie Siwo, identity and integrity go hand in hand. Kassie embodies the belief that each of us has the power to define how we show up in the world.

As Head of Digital Experience and Data Enablement at Legal & General Investment Management, Kassie oversees a huge digital estate comprising 52 websites and 48 fund centres, ensuring seamless demand generation and lead-nurturing marketing activity on a global scale. Her role is focused on innovation and driving frictionless digital client experiences, enhancing user engagement, streamlining operations and delivering measurable results that contribute to the organisation’s growth and success. In addition to the digital strategy and innovation, she enjoys the role marketing plays in building connections between people and ideas through storytelling and audience building.

Kassie’s journey into marketing was unexpected. With a degree in management information systems, she always had a passion for technology. But it was a role in a hedge fund, where she saw how data could shape and enrich conversations, that sparked her interest in marketing. She’s since built a career at the intersection of digital tech and creativity, using both science and art to influence experiences.

Being a Black woman in the corporate world has shaped her journey in ways both challenging and empowering. She has walked into rooms as the only Black professional, sometimes the only Black woman, and earlier in her career had to prove her right to be at the table. ” My energy now goes into outcomes: what value am I creating? who am I helping? and how am I making a difference?”

That outlook is deeply rooted in her heritage. Growing up in a Zambian household, Kassie was raised with values of integrity, fairness and respect. From her father, she learned the importance of honesty and inclusion.  From her wider culture, she inherited the value of listening carefully, choosing the right moment to speak, and ensuring others feel heard. “ It’s about being respectful and giving people the space to be received.”

For Kassie, standing firm in power and pride means being rooted in yourself. “The world is full of noise and… other people’s expectations. Power is knowing who you are. Pride is being unapologetic about that, without arrogance, but with conviction.”

Her leadership reflects that ethos. “I want to be remembered as someone who was driven, yes, but also someone who cared. Someone who created spaces where people felt seen, supported and included.”

Beyond her work at L&G, she is passionate about advancing literacy, especially data and technical literacy, both in the UK and across Africa. “If we want to compete in the world ahead, we need societies that are technically literate. My legacy, I hope, will be in helping to enable that shift.”

At the heart of it all, Kassie believes in showing up authentically and unapologetically.
“Embrace your unique power; it shows up differently in all of us. Your individuality is your strength, and being proud of who you are is your superpower.”
